Owner Randy Evans was in San Francisco this weekend receiving a 2016 Good Food Awards, in the Coffee category for its Kenya Gatundu Karinga AB. This coffee was one of the selected winners in a blind tasting, from an entry field of almost 2000 total entries among thirteen categories. We were also a Good Food Award Winner in 2013 for our Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Birhanu.

The Coffee category is always highly competitive, with the best roasters from North America submitting their very best coffees. The competition gets tougher every year, so it is a huge honor to repeat!

The highest scoring entries were submitted to a rigorous vetting process to verify they met the sustainability and social responsibility criteria to win a Good Food Award. According to GFA, "This year’s winners represent the forefront of American craft food, making products that are delicious, respectful of the environment, and connected to communities and cultural traditions. The Good Food awards celebrates outstanding American food producers and the farmers who provide their ingredients by recognizing them for taste and sustainability. Now in its third year, the Good Food Awards is redefining top level food and drink culture in the United States."
